FREE FOR TEACHERS · ALWAYS

The best American teachers in Thailand, in one place.

If you hold a real US degree, a teaching certificate and a clean record, you are what international schools, companies and parents here ask for by name — and what every other board makes you prove over and over. Prove it once, here, to a person. Then your name is up.

What you get

The four checks

All four, no exceptions. This is the whole value of the site, so it is strict on purpose.

1

A US degree

A bachelor's or higher from an accredited American college or university. We see the diploma and the transcript, and we ask the registrar.

2

A teaching certificate

A state teaching license, or a TEFL, TESOL or CELTA of at least 120 hours with real classroom practice. We check it with the issuer.

3

A background check passed

An FBI Identity History Summary or a state police check, dated within the last twelve months. Anything involving children, violence or drugs ends it.

4

Native US English

A US citizen who grew up speaking English in the United States, and a twenty-minute video call with Ben, in English, before the name goes up.

How each one is checked, what qualifies and what fails: What verified means →

List yourself

The form below goes to Ben. He replies himself, asks for the documents, checks them, and sends your profile back for you to approve. Nothing is published until you have seen it and said yes.

Do not attach documents here. He will ask for them by email once he has read this, he looks at them, and he keeps one line — "degree confirmed with [university], [date]" — and nothing else. The scans are deleted.

Prefer email? ben@usaenglish.com — the same questions.

What a profile looks like

An example, not a real teacher — so you can picture the page before you write yours.

Sarah K. · Verified October 2026
Degree: B.A. English, University of Texas at Austin · Certificate: Texas standard teaching certificate, EC–6 · Background check: FBI Identity History Summary, 2026 · Native US English: grew up in Austin, Texas; video call with Ben
Now: Khon Kaen · Available from: May 2027 · Wants to teach: primary, international or bilingual school, Khon Kaen or Bangkok; private tutoring online
"I taught third grade in Austin for four years before moving to Thailand with my husband. I like a noisy room and a story a day. I am happiest with children who have just started reading."

No email, phone or LINE ID is ever shown; a parent or school writes to us and we pass it on.

What we publish, and what we never publish

We publishWe never publish
Your first name and last initial, unless you tell us to use your full nameYour email address, phone number or LINE ID — people reach you through us until you choose otherwise
"Verified" with the date, and the four checks as one line each: degree (subject, university), certificate (type), background check (type, year), native US EnglishYour documents, your transcript, the check itself, your home address, passport details or date of birth
Where you are now, when you could start, who you want to teach and whereAnything you did not write yourself
Your own three to five sentencesA photograph, unless you ask us to include one

One email takes you down. Write to us and your profile is gone the same day. You do not have to give a reason, and we do not keep a copy.

We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone — not with schools, not with agencies, not with anybody. Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act applies to us and we intend to be on the right side of it, but frankly we would do this anyway.

Before you take any job in Thailand

A warning that matters more than anything else on this site. Never pay a fee to get a job, never hand your passport to a recruiter, and never start work on a tourist visa on a promise that the paperwork will be sorted later. If an offer breaks any of those three rules, walk away, and tell us about it so we can warn the next person.

Not all four yet?

No certificate yet, or no background report yet. The page that shows the road Ben is on — the FBI report, Moreland University's nine-month online certificate that leads to a US state license (pay by the month), what it costs all in, and what we make from it, which is nothing. The ten-week TEFL/TESOL course in Udon Thani, which practices you in real Thai classrooms, also counts: TESOLteacher.com →

Not American, or no degree. This site is for one kind of teacher, on purpose. Our other sites are for everyone: the Isan village volunteer track (no degree needed), the worksheets, the open Thailand job board on ESLteacher.com, which has no nationality filter at all.
